Nimesh Patel Austin Concert reviews
Once in a lifetime at Disney, with Local Natives
Nimesh Patel, one of my favorite local artists, played at this world renowned venue and I'm so glad I did not pass on this opportunity. The audience's anticipation could be felt from the will call to your seats, as this home grown band performed in one of the city's most iconic buildings backed by the LA philharmonic.
The band did not disappoint and made sure to thank their loyal LA fans for the support and creative energy the city has afforded them. During the first half of the show, a string quartet joined the band and played beautiful arrangements of about six of the band's songs, showcasing their mesmerizing harmonies.
The audience was completely enthralled by the band's ethereal cover of Televisions "Careful" and the band was joined by a 23 piece chamber orchestra after a brief intermission. The orchestral arrangements of the band's songs were executed with passion and vigor, befitting the band's most boisterous and loyal supporters.
The concert hall seemed to burst with pure enjoyment and a sense of triumph as hand-clapping, foot stomping, and singing-along broke out for songs like "Stranger Things," "Shapeshifter," "Camera Talk," "Airplanes," "Who Knows Who Cares," and the band's encore, "Sun Hands."
I know it's just the beginning of 2026 and there are many great concerts ahead this year, but I wouldn't be going out on a limb to say that this experience will probably top them all.
